Boot design is apart of the Project K 2020 Kinfolk series, and was inspired by my cousin and his souped-up 1975 Maverick.

I spent a whole bunch of  summers in Hamilton Ohio as a young teen visiting with my Kinfolk and for fun at night us boys would catch up with the older town kids car racing along a hilly 5 mile country road called Hell Rd, laughing our asses off as we caught air bottoming out the muffler on the Maverick filling the interior of the car with carbon monoxide while listening to ACDC at volume Ears Bleed.

My cousin always wore our Uncles black Army boots and was forever searching for that lost EIGHT BALL (stick shifter) under his feet after landing the car a little sideways at 60mph.

In honor of his desire and passion to enlist in the Army at the end of that summer get stationed in Germany and go onto becoming an Army career Tank Commando Driver this tribute of "Highway to Hell" is now a shit kicker of a pedal shifter boot.

Featuring a unique Harness Drum-dyed 5 oz Full grain veg tanned hide from "Wickett and Craig Tannery"established in 1867 for this boot because of its ability to resemble the type of leather that was used locally by German-American shoemakers throughout the Ohio-Kentucky hill country.
It takes a twice Dyed Oil Ink Treatment beautifully and the properties in the grain on this hide are exceptional to work with, achieving a shorter overall break in time in as the Black Walnut patina ages revealing the Brown grain underneath.

The Leather / Rubber Half-Soles are "Straight Cut" at the Breast of the Heel into the feather line at the Waist and stacked to create a Traditional shape with Jet Black oiled dyed edges that are Cold Burnished and re-dyed reveling each layer of Leather with a different aging effect.

Every aspect of this boot build is uniquely technical and follows traditional European shoemakers methods, the clients personal outlined foot tracing and width measurements are required for boot.
